1. The School’s internal government structure is closely linked to the Andalusian Health Ministry through the figure of the Regional Health Minister, who acts as president of the EASP’s Governing Board of Directors. Other members of this Board of Directors include senior managers from the Andalusian Public Health System and directors from a variety of health-related public institutions in Andalusia. It represents the highest level for decision-making at the School.
Individual Governing and Directives bodies
2. The Governing Board elects the EASP’s Chief Executive Officer, who is a member of that group and acts as the maximum representative of and advocate for the EASP’s interests.
3. The Managing Director is elected by the Governing Board but is not a member of that group. This figure was introduced in the School at the end of the ’90s.
4. The EASP’s organizational model was designed on a matrix basis to encourage convergence between areas of knowledge and production and permit resources to be shared among all levels. Knowledge areas are managed by a Coordinator and production areas are led by a Director. Coordinators are elected by their peers in the areas while Directors are named by the CEO.
5. Two more services are headed by directors to reinforce support for the School’s production areas: “Economic Management and General Services” and “Information Systems and Communication” (IS).
6. Professionals are invited to join one of the knowledge areas depending on their field or fields of knowledge. The activity and products offered by an area are coordinated by the knowledge area’s coordinator. Professional coordinates individual projects which are economically dependent of a Production or Projects Management Area.
7. Every Project Coordinator establishes a team to deal with individual projects.
8. The School’s administrative staff, which includes secretaries,, economic managers, communications and information technicians, librarians, and general services personnel, provides support to all team projects.
