Methodological contributions to the cohesion of teams subjected to emotional wear

Objective

The work teams in the area of the social exclusion find themselves subjected to emotional wear by the level of stress that they have to put up with. That is why it is necessary to control the variables that elicit stress and come from the organizational sources of stress at work.

Material and Methods

Based on the experience of 5 years in the center of reduction of damages to drug addicts, the Day Center ESTRADA, the importance of the cohesion in the work teams and the difficulties that appear in this process, is emphasized.

Results

The methodology used through exercises, dynamics and reflections proposed to overcome the difficulties arising in the process is described. The work is accompanied by the respective annexes to each techniques used to strengthen and consolidate the cohesion. Its limits are also analyzed, preventing the risk of developing «a group thought».

Conclusions

The paper reaffirms the need to assure the cohesion of the work teams that do their work in the area of drug addictions to prevent «burnout» and define cohesion as a dynamic concept that requires permanent supervision, weighted in relative terms, and relate positively with a group culture of «not being able to».
